Viking Star Stranded After Engine Trouble
A cruise ship equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric engine and owned by Viking Ocean Cruises has been stranded in Port Tallinn since it lost power in an engine last week, The Telegraph reports.
The Viking Star, which has been in service for just four months, was was in the middle of a cruise traveling from Stockholm to Bergen when the incident occurred.
The company reportedly attributed the loss in power to “electric transformers in one part of the ship’s propulsion system,” though did not release further details.
